Aerial Arguments

Birds have them too!!  Over the last week I have seen several arguments high in the sky.  The most spectacular has been between two Osprey, talons outstretched, beaks open, in a series of fast contorted maneuvers which spun out across the sky.  An imposter bird is causing the trouble, hanging around the nest and fishing in the bay.  His appearance is always followed by a frenetic aerial argument which lasts until he gives up and leaves.

The second disagreement was between two Black Shouldered Kites.  They were about twenty meters in the air and furious with each other.  A noisy violent interaction ensued until they parted company.  I have seen one of these birds a few times since, but now he is always alone!
