“Melissa Zappelli’s photography camp in Northcliffe was nothing short of transformative. From the moment we arrived, Melissa created a space that felt safe, inspiring, and deeply supportive. Her style is warm, patient, and empowering. She doesn’t just show you how to take a photo; she helps you see—the light, the emotion, the story behind every moment. Whether we were wandering through the forest, photographing seascapes, orchids, or sharing our work at the end of the day, Melissa guided us with genuine care and a wealth of knowledge. What made the experience truly special was the community she cultivated. Being surrounded by women from different walks of life, all learning, laughing, and creating together, was incredibly uplifting. The conversations, the quiet moments in nature—they all became part of the story we captured. I left the camp with a refreshed creative spark and a sense of connection and confidence I didn’t expect. Melissa has a gift for bringing out the best in people, and this camp was a beautiful reminder of the power of art, nature, and women supporting women. I would recommend this experience to anyone wanting to grow as a photographer, reconnect with their creativity, or simply spend meaningful time with an inspiring group of women in a stunning location.”

"I was lucky to be invited to attend Mel's inaugural photography workshop. It was a wonderful experience shared with a small group of women, which created a relaxed, supportive atmosphere. We explored a range of subjects including native orchids, birds, sand dunes, the forest and the beach. Melissa’s guidance was thoughtful and encouraging, and she shared her knowledge to entice storytelling within our photography, helping us create images with meaning, depth, and connection. A beautifully curated and inspiring workshop”.

“This camp was an extraordinary experience! We photographed exquisite orchids, birds and breathtaking landscapes, were spoilt with delicious local food, and visited places that were truly unique and inspiring. Mel is an exceptionally skilled and knowledgeable photographer whose guidance deepened both my technical skills and creative vision. Just as meaningful was the uplifting camaraderie among the women attending—there was a genuine sense of support, encouragement, and shared joy that made the experience unforgettable.”

“A big thank you to my daughter Melissa for inviting me to participate in her Women’s Photography and Storytelling camp held in October 2025. Being the oldest woman there at 80 years of age and having very little photography experience I wondered how beneficial this would be for me and worried that I may not be able to keep up with the group. It was delightful to find that we all had a wonderful time partaking in a wide range of activities that took us from lofty forests, bushy floral hideaways, mountains, waterfalls and undulating, cliff hanging sand dunes right to our great Southern Ocean – at sunset! Of course, some could walk further and some climb higher, but there was flexibility for all to enjoy the surroundings within their own capabilities. Our accommodation and facilities were clean and comfortable. Winding down in the evenings was very relaxing as we shared the day’s experiences, listened to music, inspiring talks, sharing photos and stories with the pleasant, like-minded group we had grown into. All after being served our delicious evening meal. Thanks also to the other ladies in the group, for carpooling, advice and assistance when needed for each other. I came home with some good photos and great memories. A most enjoyable few days; highly recommended. “
