Back to the polka dots with a Spotted Pardelote.  Most of the photographs I took on Monday morning were of Pardelotes and most of them show the bird within its habitat, surrounded by vegetation.  I am going to save some of these for later, for weeks when I am unable to get out into the wilds with my camera. Reminders of a beautiful morning and the reward I almost always comes my way when I make the effort and get out of bed before dawn in winter!!  This image has a clear background, a distant tree line blurred out nicely into various shades of green and grey.  I guess is a typical chick on stick type photo, but I like the perch and I like the quizzical, curious expression on the little birds face.  He was looking for tiny insects along the dead branch in a kind of systematic way.  This branch didn’t bring much to the table and he quickly moved into a clump of thick reeds which appeared to have richer pickings!!
