A Volcano of Light above!!  Cloudscape images are not something I often do, yet, I am always watching the sky.  My interest in bird photography has made me acutely aware of light.  Its colour, tone, intensity, direction and changeability.  In this case I was using almost all of my brain power, LOL the amount available varies on a daily basis, trying to will a Little Egret to walk into the reflection of a rainbow!  I glanced up to see what the sky was doing so I could predict the light.  What I saw was amazing, the rising sun was caught behind a massive cloud bank but there must have been a gap somewhere and perhaps enough moisture in the air to create the effect of shafts emerging from the clouds.  It looked like a volcano in the sky.  I only had my 80-400mm lens so took a few shots.  It didn’t last long.  I only got about ten shots before the intensity fades off and the scene looks pretty average.  I have been trying out some HDR presets in Lightroom and I applied one to this image to increase the drama!!  Meanwhile, the Little Egret had wandered off, showing absolutely no interest in the sky, the rainbow or me!!
