In the keeping with my ‘yellow’ mood!!  A re-post of one of the most touching scenes I have ever come across!!  I spent yesterday morning wandering around Mum’s garden, always beautiful and full of color!!  An amazing achievement with limited water!!  A few days earlier Mum had told me that her Californian Poppies were full of bright green jewel beetles!!  I had taken my macro lens so I could take some photos!!  When we went out to look we found Jewel Beetles in the Poppies but they were all dead.  I went to investigate a clump of Pig Face flowers and found the same thing, lots of Jewel Beetles but all dead in the middle of the flowers?  It seemed quite weird.  Some kind of mass extinction in the Jewel Beetle world?  We haven’t had any weather extremes and Mum doesn’t use any insecticides or poisons?  Maybe they simply all hatched at the sometime and therefore all died at the same time?  I found these two in one of the Pig Face flowers.  Right in the centre.  It looked as if they were holding each other, sad, vulnerable and beautiful at the same time!!  The Jewel Beetles Grave?  I didn’t have my tripod so took these images by hovering directly above the flower, trying to keep the lens still and upping the Fstop to increase the field of view and get it all in focus!!
