A good memory of a beautiful little Red Capped Robin who created a lot of happiness with his visits! Boss of the wood heap!!  This little fella turned up at my parent’s house every year with his wife.  Dad loved this bright little bird! Seeing him was a daily highlight, and I would get regular reports about the little red one’s antics! They nested somewhere behind the tank in the thick scrub.  Dad had a pile of wood sitting in the back of his ute.  It sat there for a while, no one could be bothered unloading the wood and it was a haven for little bugs and beetles and other insects so Mr Robin moved in.  He aggressively defended his hunting ground, patrolling the boundary and defending the perimeter against the New Holland Honeyeaters and other birds.   Interestingly he would not even share his prize patch with his wife.  Every time Mrs Robin came near the ute he would see her off to a safe distance!!!
